Our Core Philosophy
At MEC, we believe learning should feel like an exciting journey—not an assignment.

For generations, cultures across the world have educated through the medium of storytelling. Our stories are designed to offer challenging ideas in fun, engaging ways, giving children the freedom to explore, discover, and figure out what truly interests them. Through adventure, problem-solving, and imagination, young readers are encouraged to ask questions, try new ideas, and make sense of the world around them at their own pace.

Our books are not about memorizing facts or following a set path. There are no agendas, no ideologies, and no mandated curriculum—just meaningful learning woven naturally into stories kids love. By providing opportunities for lessons on life skills, social-emotional growth, and STEAM concepts, we focus on helping children learn how to think, not what to think. We believe this is the best way to prepare your child to be a reslient, adaptable, and curious lifelong learner who is ready to succeed in a future we have yet to imagine.

Created with families in mind, our books provide the option for extension of learning beyond the stories themselves. Each book is thoughtfully designed to generate background knowledge, spark curiosity, encourage creativity, and support confidence-building exploration. This is not homework. It’s not tutoring. It’s learning the way it should be—joyful, intentional, and driven by curiosity.

Oh, and we provide resources written specifically for parents and educators too!

About Our Designers
The books and materials created by Mindful Education Consortium (MEC) consist of a small group of contributors who bring deep experience, thoughtful perspective, and a shared commitment to the needs of our families.
Our contributors include:
-
Policy makers with a broad understanding of educational systems
-
Individuals with doctorates in education and related fields
-
Veteran classroom teachers who have taught across multiple grade levels and content areas
-
Public and private school educators and administrators
-
Professionals who have worked directly with students, families, and school communities for many years

Together, we offer a wide-ranging view of education. While our contributors come from varying backgrounds, we all share the basic core belief that the needs of the family should be at the center of everything we create.
We believe meaningful learning happens when:
-
Parents are empowered with high-quality resources
-
Families are encouraged to learn alongside their children
-
Students are given choice in their learning
-
Curiosity and wonder are allowed to guide exploration

Our work is grounded in the idea that learning should:
-
Be fun, engaging, and motivating
-
Prepare children for a rapidly changing future
-
Teach students how to think, not what to think
-
Spark curiosity, creativity, and confidence
-
Remain free from shifting political agendas or one-size-fits-all mandates

At MEC, we are devoted to supporting families by creating thoughtfully designed materials that put learning back where it belongs—in the hands of parents and children. When families are trusted, students are empowered, and learning is driven by curiosity, we see the most meaningful growth. These beliefs are at the heart of everything we design.
